A New Path Forward

Suzanne Moseley & Adrienne Shishko began collaborating in 2021 exploring the role of objects, both hollow and

hallowed in their work. Their first show, “An Object’s Promise: the magical thinking we attach to our things” was a

year-long investigation of the opposing forces people attach to objects: objects that look forward, imagining the future,

versus objects that conjure the past, memorializing a treasured time, place or person. In this exploration, the two

discovered that objects can hold great value to their owners, when they stands in for a lost loved one or capture the

essence of a meaningful moment in time, etc. But often objects are amassed with faulty intent, and cast off with little

regard, a behavior that has great impact on on environment.
